AB Kennerson, 76, went to his Heavenly home Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, while at his home surrounded with love by his family.
He was a native of Lawtell, La., and lived in Lake Charles, La., most of his life. He worked as an operator at Conoco Refinery for 30 plus years and retired in 1999. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver #141. He was a little league baseball and basketball coach to both his sons, Sherman and Mark. he also coached his daughters basketball team at IHM. As their coach, he led them to championship wins. He enjoyed attending and watching sports events and working in his yard.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Bernice Kennerson of Lake Charles, La.; two sons, Sherman (Sharon) Kennerson of Plano, Texas, and Mark (Trina) Kennerson of Lake Charles, La.; one daughter, Tamika (Shedrick) Kennedy of Richmond, Texas; one brother, Willis (Gloria) Kennerson of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Elva (Melvin) Gallien of Lake Charles, La., Teresa (Larry) Gasaway of Sulphur, La., and Alma (Michael) Daniels of Baton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren, Cody, D'Erika and Nikyia of Lake Charles, La., Kennedy and Kason of Plano, Texas, and Karyss, Khori and Kole of Richmond, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Telesmar and Wilda Kennerson; and five siblings, Wilford "Bay" Kennerson, Joseph "Linton" Kennerson, Dorothy Simien, Loritha Kennerson Bellard and Telesmar Kennerson.
