In the early hours of the morning on Sunday, January 24, 2021, Albert Jones, with his family by his side, quietly began his journey to be with the Lord. For all that knew our dad, they knew his greatest joy wa​s serving God and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, beloved sisters, nieces, nephews, church members, and friends. He had the biggest, most sincere heart and the best sense of humor. Our dad loved to joke around and have a good, hearty laugh.

Albert Jones was born on June 13, 1927 to Sterling Jones and Mary Leday in Teche, LA. As a child, he and his family attended Green Chapel United Methodist Church. Albert accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a very early age. He married his lifelong friend, Laura Mayo Jones. To this union, Harold, Michael, and Janice were born. In 1983, he married Mary Lou Jones. The two remained married until her recent passing.

Albert Jones' servitude was unparalleled, immeasurable, and well documented. He was a proud and devoted member at Warren United Methodist Church for 74 years, which he faithfully attended until his health declined. He served as Trustee Chairman, Trustee Emeritus, Finance Committee Member, Member of the United Methodist Men, and Chancellors Choir. He was honored by the City Wide Ushers Board where he served as President and also received the Religious Person of the Year Award.

He was also a dependable employee for 45 dedicated years to his employment at Olin Chemical Plant.

Albert left many wonderful memories embedded in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves to cherish these memories, his children Harold Jones (Linda), daughter-in-law, Florence Jones (Michael), and Janice Jones Perkins (Danny Towner) all of Lake Charles, LA, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and a host of  very special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

When those great mansion doors opened, Jesus and those who preceded Albert in death were there to greet him: his parents, Mary LeDay and Sterling Jones, our mother, Laura Mayo Jones, his son, Michael Jones, his granddaughter, ShaCrista Jones, grandson, Christopher Guillory, and great grandson, Noah Stamps. Also waiting to greet him were his lovely wife, Mary Lou, his sisters: Rosa Lee Bob, Opal Bond, and Lou Ella Milburn, and his best friend and brother in law, Sonny Milburn.

Albert was an honorable, amazing man that was greatly loved, and he will be missed.

His legacy will live forever.
