Albert "Winnie" Miller, 62, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 1:30pm in the Debakey VA Hospital in Houston,TX. Albert was born August 19th, 1954 to James Joseph Miller and Annie Mae Kane Miller. Albert was a Navy Vietnam Combat Veteran. He was executive Director of the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation. Albert was a member of Iron Workers of America. He was the owner of Quality Renovations Construction, LLC. Albert also worked ten years for the Lake Charles Fire Dept. He served as Senator Willie Mount's personal aide. Albert was also a trained Gourmet Chef known throughout the state for his creole dishes. Albert's favorite past time was fishing for bass and white perch.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was not ashamed to discuss Jesus with anyone!
Survivors include his wife, Terri Perkins Miller of Lake Charles; two sons Albert A Miller II and James R. Miller both of Lake Charles; two daughters, Takessa Miller of Lake Charles and DeAndra D. Miller-Byrd (Larry) of Atlanta, Georgia; two step-daughters, Tyla Adams (Kenny) and Terren Fontenot; a step-son, Royal Fontenot III all of Houston, TX; and mother Annie Mae Miller. Grandchildren Mortriez Wolfe, Mar'Shaya Wolfe, Marianna Miller, Branasia Miller, and Maxwell Miller. Step-grandchildren Chance and Casey Adams, Myla Booker, and Peyton Fontenot. Siblings Lillian Porche, James Miller (Janice), Ronald Miller (Barbara), Dorothy Lewis, Sandra Miller, and Michael Miller (Shirley), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father James Joseph Miller and brother Kevin Miller.
