Alexzine Simon, better known as Naw-New, was born on January 8, 1920 to the late Gabriel Simon and Ella Declouette. Naw-New was a native of Lawtell, La. where she lived for a few years. Naw-New never married but had her one and only daughter, Theresa Guidry-Andrepont in March of 1942. When Theresa was 4 years old, Naw-New and her precious daughter moved to Lake Charles, La. where she lived until the Lord called her home. Theresa cared for her unconditionally without measure. Naw-New belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies of Auxiliary. Naw-New worked at Chateau Charles for many years and volunteered for church functions until she was no longer able to.
Naw-New is preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Ella Simon, one bother Clarence, and two sisters Beatrice and Ella Mae Carmen.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her only daughter Theresa Andrepont, her son in law Marshall whom adored her; 3 grandsons, Lawrence Andrepont (Cheryl), Anthony Andrepont, and Jude Andrepont (Joni); and one granddaughter, Lilah Malveaux (Michael); 6 great-grandchildren, Jude Andrepont, Nick Andrepont, Natalie Andrepont, Michaela Malveaux, Milah Malveaux, and Alexzine Andrepont; and 2 grand-dogs, Navy and Simon. She also leaves to cherish her memories; 2 sisters, Rosa Jolivette and Margie Jenkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: June 26, 2015
Funeral services will be held on Friday; June 26, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 612 Louisiana Avenue in Lake Charles, La. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery Mausoleum and visitation will be at 10:00a.m.-11:45 a.m. at Combre Funeral home.
