Amy Marie Carrier Guidry, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 13, 2021 at 7:12 am.
Mrs. Guidry was born to the parents of Joseph and Stella Jones Carrier and was a native of Welsh, Louisiana. She lived in Mossvill e, Louisiana until moving to Lake Charles, Louisiana in the year two-thousand with her granddaughter. She was married to the late Alex Guidry. Mrs. Guidry will be laid to rest next to her late husband.
While residing in Mossville, she was an active member of St. John Bosco in Westlake, once moving to Lake Charles, she attended St. Henry Catholic Church in Lake Charles. She was very dedicated in her church, and activities. She loved going to and hosting prayer meetings. She was very active in her grandson's life, Pierce Simien. Mrs. Guidry also loved her two dogs, Snappy and Roscoe. She was a domestic worker, housekeeper, and nanny for forty-three years to her longtime friend, Ms. Kay Noble.
Mrs. Guidry was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Guidry; parents, Joseph and Stella Carrier; son, Larry Simien; and daughter, Pamela Jefferson; brother, Preston Pete; three sisters, Eula May Gray, Elnora Burke, and Irene Gray.
Her loving memory will live on in the life of her only surviving daughter, Stella Lavergne of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren, Latricia Simien (whom she raised), Melvin Ceasar, Jermaine Ceasar, Michael Ceasar, Jacoby James, Eljin Simien, Christina and Jermey Simien, Christopher Jefferson, and McNair; and Goddaughter, Sandra Orphey. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
