Anderson Joseph Hardy, 58 of Sulphur, La died Thursday, August 18, 2016 in his home. He was born on July 31, 1958 in Lake Charles, La to the late Earnest and Ethel (Simien) Hardy, Sr.
He was a 1977 graduate of Sulphur High School. After serving 17 1/2 years in the United States Army and defending our country in Desert Storm and receiving numerous awards, including two bronze medals he returned to his hometown of Sulphur, La.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Christel (Steputtat) Hardy. Three sons Orlando Hardy, Sr., Sascha Hardy, Matthew Hardy (Christine). One daughter Christina Hardy. Nine grandchildren, Christy, Americus, Orlando Jr., Kiara, Cole, Kayden, Bailey, Maddox and Maci. One god-daughter Latasha Hardy.
Four brothers Ernest (Wilton) Hardy, Jr. (Jackie), Frederick Hardy, Charles Hardy (Ora) and James Hardy. Five sisters Josephine Bushnell (Dave), Ethel Mae Hardy, Odelia Ann Hardy, Earline Hardy (Rodney), Eina Mae (Jean) Victorian and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anderson adore his children and grandchildren. His family was his world. He served his country with honor and pride.
He never met a stranger and would give his last to anyone in need. He enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, horses, fishing and playing dominoes.
He was loved and will be greatly missed.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: August 27, 2016
Visitation will be Friday, August 26, from 6 - 9pm at Combre Funeral Home, Lake Charles, La. A military honor funeral mass on Saturday, August 27, 2016; 10:00 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church with burial at Perkins Cemetery , Westlake, La.
