Antionette Faye Colquitt
September 18, 1959 – December 8, 2022
On Thursday, December 8, 2022 the Almighty God in his infinite mercy, called Antionette Faye Colquitt to a peaceful rest in a land that is free from sickness, pain, and suffering. Faye was one of fourteen children born to the union of the late Peter and Olena Stevens Chretien.
Faye is a 1977 graduate of Washington High School and a 1982 graduate of Southern University with a degree in Electricity/Electronics Engineering Technology. Faye's careers included working for Harris County in Houston, Texas; Gulf States Utilities, Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court, Combre Elementary in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She retired with United States Postal Service as Calcasieu Parish Postmaster (Starks, Louisiana) in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was an entrepreneur with real estate and rental properties. Faye is a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Faye enjoyed playing basketball, watching the New Orleans Saints, traveling, gardening, shopping, going on daily rides around town, and going out to eat at different restaurants locally and afar especially to Leonard's Restaurant to eat the steak, rice, and gravy and to Dairy Queen to eat ice cream. But what she enjoyed most was eating her daughter Britney's cooking and baking, and her son Leo Jr's barbecue. Most importantly, she loved to laugh and enjoy family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved with deep intentions. She never met a stranger. She always greeted you with the biggest smile.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents Peter Chretien and Olena Stevens Chretien; brothers, Merculus, Frank, Earl, Alfred, and Leonard Chretien; sister Yvette Chretien Edwards; paternal grandparents, Christopher and Antoinette Chretien, maternal grandparents, Minor and Eva Stevens; and father and mother-in-law, Donnell Colquitt, Sr., and Irene Bailey; and brother-in-law, Donnell Colquitt, Jr.
