Ardell Goodly was born June 1, 1940 to the late Ardiol and Leze Goodly in Mamou, La. In the early evening hour on April 8, 2015, God called his son home. Despite the ravages of his ailments, he fought valiantly to the end. He was very outgoing, full of life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church, visiting the sick, playing his organ, cooking and last but not least, he loved to travel. (He kept the road hot)

He was employed by Home Furniture Company for 30+ years. He worked in the sales department, and possessed a warm charismatic personality, he was granted the opportunity of cultivating lifelong friendships/clientele across the Southwest Louisiana area. After retiring, he gained employment at New Look Furniture, until he became ill.

He was an active member of Pasadena Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

He leaves to mourn five children; Shawn (Rhonda)Goodly, Karen Goodly, Imani Goodly, of Lake Charles, LA; Sharla Goodly and Darla(Rudell) Kirklin of Kinder, La; six siblings; Columbus (Helen)Goodly and Obery Goodly of Kinder, La; Lorraine Thomas and Raymond Goodly of Mamou, LA; Wilfred (Caroline) Goodly of Vinton, LA; John (Shirley)Goodly of Iowa, LA; fourteen grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; Ardiol and Leze Goodly, three sisters; Eva Noel, Loretta Ned, and Evelyn Poullard; four brothers; Preston Goodly, Ellis Goodly, Willis Goodly and Luck.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: April 13, 2015

His funeral will be at 11am Monday, April 13, in Pasadena Baptist Church. Burial will be in The Goodly-Ceasar Cemetery in Soileau, La under the direction of Combre Funeral home. Visitation is from 8am Monday in the church.
