Arthur "Peewee" Sterling III, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on October 9, 2025. Born on February 13, 1949 to Arthur Sterling II and Flossie Dervis Sterling, lived a life rooted in family, community, and service.
Peewee graduated from W.O. Boston High School, home of the Mighty Panthers, in 1967, where he was a member of the marching band. Once graduating from high school, he attended McNeese State University before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After proudly serving his country, Peewee returned home to Lake Charles, where he began a long-dedicated career with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years.
Beyond his career, Peewee loved cooking for his friends, family, friends, and community. He was a founding member of The Greater Chefs of Lake Charles, as well as a member of Krewe de Classique.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Alosia Sterling, his daughter, Toye Michelle Sterling, his parents, Arthur Sterling II and Flossie Sterling, brothers Theron and Richard Sterling, and sister Sandra (Susie) Yell.
Peewee leaves behind daughters, Monique Danyelle Sterling of Fresno, TX, and Jaden Arielle Sterling of Lake Charles, LA, stepson Brandon (Brooke) Bellow of Huntington, TX, his brother Larry (Rita), uncle John Darrell (Juanita) Campbell, his grandchildren Keelan Joseph, Kadence Grace, Tristyn Kace, and Ella Victoria Bellow, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends, all whom will cherish his memory and carry forward his legacy of warmth, humor, and generosity.
