Arthur "Sonny" Thierry Jr.

Mr. Arthur Thierry Jr. son of Arthur Thierry Sr. and Bessie Thierry was born on January 29, 1940 in Opelousas, Louisiana.  He attended and graduated from Plaisance High School in St. Landry Parish.

Arthur and Ruby was united in holy matrimony on December of 1962. This union blessed them with four children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Arthur always loved to hunt and go fishing with family and friends and was always ready for a team debate on sports. He departed this life quietly on Tuesday, 10 of April 2018 at a nursing care facility.  He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruby Nell Thierry and their son Victor Jerome Thierry, his three brothers Leon Thierry, Leonce Thierry, Albert James Thierry, and his sister Norma Jean Frank.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Arthur Cornell Thierry, Mark Anthony Thierry (Bridgette), Sonja Antoinette Thierry all of Lake Charles, grandchildren: Jacob Wilridge, LaMarc Washington, Aaron Thierry, Kenadi Malveaux, Shelby Thierry, Madison Thierry, Marcus and Mathew Thierry; great grandchildren: Layla Watson, Jayden Wilridge and Avery Thierry sibling: YvonneT. Johnson – Opelousas, Marva T. Bell (George) – Opelousas, mother-n-law Gladys Fontenot Joseph – Opelousas. In-laws:  Rufus Joseph (Joann) - Lake Charles, Annie J. Jones- Houston, Albert Joseph, Jr., (Gloria) - Lake Charles, Ellis Joseph (Clara) - Lake Charles, Joshua Joseph (Barbara) - Lake Charles, Evelyn Durden (Donald) – Miami, Samuel Joseph (Sherri) – Lake Charles, Vanessa Clayton – Houston, Daisy Joseph – Los Angeles, Carl Joseph (Sheila) – Lafayette. To include a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins.
