Barbara Ann Lafanette Lemelle Allison was born January 23, 1939, to Mabel Duhon and Leroy Lafanette and departed this life on Saturday, November 26, 2022, after a brief illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana residing in the Prien Lake community.

Barbara's grandparents Julia and Julian Duhon raised her, not wanting to let her mother and stepdad, Mabel and Jack Harrison take her to Texas.  She had seven brothers and sisters with her mom and five brothers and sisters with her dad.  She also had eight stepbothers and sisters with her dad. Barbara was a bus driver for CPSB for many years.

Barbara married Eugene Lemelle in 1954.  They had three children, Wayne Keith, Jacqueline Ann and Julie Gail.   After Eugene's death she married Dave Allison, Jr. and Ashley Janell was born.

She is survived by one son, Wayne Lemelle (Gail), two daughters, Jackie Lemelle Guillory (Martin), and Ashley Allison, five grandchildren, Julian Guillory (Angela), Corey Lemelle, Eugenia (Nikki) Lemelle, Christopher Lemelle, and Ryan Lemelle (Brittainy), ten great grandchildren, Zoe Lemelle, Braycen Lemelle-Ceasar,  Demi Lemelle, Noah Lemelle, Aden Lemelle, Payton Allange, Julian M.J. Guillory, Jackson Guillory, Yvie Lemelle, and Londyn Lemelle, and five siblings, Kenneth Harrison, Karen Werdlow (Lawrence), Ralph Harrison (Chandra), Cassandra Littleton (George) and Patricia Key, along with a host of nieces and nephew, cousins and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel Lafanette Harrison and Leroy Lafanette, stepfather, Ernest Harrison, Sr., stepmother Thelma Lafanette, grandparents, Julian and Julia Duhon, daughter, Julie Gail Lemelle, granddaughter, Desiree Nicole Guillory, great-grandson Zion Lemelle and eight siblings, Mary Wiley, Ernest, Thurman, and Frank Harrison, Horace, Harvey and Beverly Lafanette, Peter Bryant and daughter-in-law Yvette S. Lemelle.
