Barbara Nero- dedicated wife and mother passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2022, at the age of 74. Barbara was born in Lake Charles, La on August 25, 1948 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Ledet, Sr. She was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, La. She graduated from Mossville High School and shortly after met the love her life, Kermit "Butsy" Nero. They later wed on June 29, 1968 and spent the next 54 years working together as they built their family. They welcomed 2 daughters and 2 sons.

Through the years Barbara was an EKG technician and worked in the Cardiac Cath lab at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, visiting with friends and spending quality time with family. Barbara was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Kelly Ledet, Sr and Clamonce Ledet as well as her siblings, Lois Rideaux, Kathleena Boutte, Priscilla Ledet, Eddie Ledet Sr, Gerard Ledet and Phillip Ledet.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted husband Kermit "Butsy" Nero Sr, two daughters, Davlynn Nero ( Ronald), Stephanie Nero Sullivan (Julian) and two sons, Kermit Nero Jr and Joshua Nero; Three sisters JoAnn Cooks, Cynthia Ledet, Sylvia Goody (Oscar); Three brothers Nathaniel Ledet (Jackie), Kelly Ledet, Jr (Agnes) and Michael Ledet (Sarah); Six grandchildren MacKenzie Nero  (Felicia), Dorian Nero (Tania), Megan Walker, Kiersten Anderson, Brittney James and Kevin Walker, Jr (Kierra) and four great grandchildren.
