On Friday July 5,2024, God decided to bring one of his beloved daughters home.
Bessie Ray Rosamore,90, the daughter of the late Promise and Rosalie Johnson was born on July 21,1933 in Peakville, La. Bessie was the third out of ten blessings bestowed on this union. She accepted Christ in her life at a young age and was baptized at New Zion Baptist Church 11 in Swords, La under the leadership of Rev. Charles Alexander. After moving to Lake Charles in 1950 she joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. In 1980 Bessie was an active follower of Christ which led her to New Sunlight Baptist Church under the late Rev. V.E Washington. Later in life Bessie was led to Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Alvin Brass where she served as a deaconess until she transitioned to be with the Lord.
On June 7,1953 she married the love of her life Mr. Roy Anthony Rosamore in Lake Charles, La. Their union was blessed with seven children.
Bessie worked at Moss Bluff Manor, Lake Charles Care Center, and Holly Hill nursing facilities. She later became a private duty CNA where she retired from after taking care of her mother.
She loved baking, shopping, long talks with her siblings, going out to eat At Pats of Henderson, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bessie made a statement in every room she walked in and was loved even more for her kind spirit. She loved fashion and expressed it through her attire with the nicest hats and matching suits, she was stylish and elegant. She loved to make people feel at home and welcomed and showed it through her hospitality. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, the best grandmother, and a true sister and friend.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Mr. Roy Anthony Rosamore, four children; Phyllis Marie Rosamore, Promise Darell Rosamore, Willie Ray(Anna) Rosamore, Anthony (Elizabeth) Rosamore, bonus son Johnnie Ray (Linda) Rosamore, grandson James (Tonya) Taylor, parents Promise and Rosalie Johnson, brothers L.J (Ida)Johnson, Johnnie Johnson, Rodney(Ethel) Johnson, brother in laws Willie Woods and LeRoy(Josephine) Rosamore, sister in law Rosalie(Sis) (Clarence) Ceasar, and god son Ambers James Larkins
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted children; Larry(Abby) Rosamore, Carolyn(Joseph) Thierry, Fontella (Tamika) Rosamore, grandchildren; Sherie, Lakechia, Marco, Sherod, Sherome, Desiraye, Raychelle(Kendrick), Brandi(Mark), Phyllis(Kedric), Donovan, Enjoli, Lloyd, Shay, Jonathan(Ashley), Brandon, Duon(Brandney), Brittany, Shade(Reginald), Crystasia(Justin), Briana(Ronald), Mariah, Malika, Nokia, Cinaya, Sage, Katrina, Kesha, Kellee(Charles), Kristina(Christopher), 53 great- grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, two brothers Linton(Rose) Johnson and Cooper Johnson, four sisters Mary Lou(Alvin) Hanchett, Norma Jean(Melvin) Cotton, Loria(Edward) Woods, and Gloria(George) King, god daughter Kathleen(Daniel) Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
