On February, 18, 2012, Betty Taylor passed away in a local hospital, surrounded by family and friends.  Betty Taylor was born in Lake Charles, LA in 1943, where she graduated from W.O. Boston High School in 1961.  She went on to graduate from Dillard University with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Sociology.  She resided in New Orleans, LA for several years before moving back to Lake Charles, LA in 2004.

She was formerly employed by Moss Regional Mental Health Center, where she retired.  Betty is survived by two nieces, Wanda Broussard and Brenda Taylor, both of Lake Charles, LA; six great nieces, LaShonda Franklin of Bladensburg, MD, Lisa Franklin, Quintessa Broussard, Kimberly Ceaser, Stacey Melanson and Tiffany Leger, all of Lake Charles, LA; two great nephews, Terald Doucett of Houston, TX and Damien Broussard of Lake Charles, LA; 7 great-great nieces and 5 great-great nephews.  She also leaves a host of friends.  She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

There will be a short memorial service on Monday, February 27 at 11 am in Warren Methodist Church.  The family invites all friends to come and celebrate her life with them.
