Beverly Janet Terrell-Dixon was born February 14, 1944 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and fell asleep in death on March 11, 2021 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, awaiting the resurrection.
She was a young teenager student of the Bible and loved what she learned and as a result, dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Beverly was a 1962 graduate of Capital High School in Baton Rouge, La. She was united in marriage to Carl Hayward Dixon from Woodville, Ms. She was the oldest daughter of the late James Terrell and Sister Frankie Aston-Terrell. Early on after the untimely death of her mother, she embraced her responsibility of nurturing and caring for her younger siblings.
Beverly worked many years in different capacities at Winn-Dixie in order to help support her family of three children. As life went on, her work career changed direction. Because of her love of sewing, she became a professional seamstress and worked for several alteration businesses and a men's clothing stores. She also loved music as a young person, crafted her talent as a trained pianist as she sometimes played accompanied Kingdom Melodies in earlier years, at her Christian meetings. She put her heart into gardening and the culinary arts of cooking. Her family can attest that she always had something delicious to eat for whoever stopped by. And you can always count on something sweet prepared, for example her pecan candy, scrumptious pies and melt in your mouth cakes. You never left hungry. She was generous, kind and loved by many.
Beverly leave behind a legacy of love, and many cherished memories which includes her children Charmaine Renee Stevens (Ben), Carla J. Ricard (Joel),and Carl Hayward "Dune" Dixon Jr.; her grandchildren Emone Dixon, Logan Ricard, Phillip Dixon and Gabriel Dixon; two sisters, Mary Bell Davis and Earlene Jackson; and one brother, Harold Terrell; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, family and millions of spiritual brothers and sisters.
Beverly Terrell-Dixon was preceded in death by her husband Carl Hayward Dixon Sr., her parents James and Frankie Terrell; two brothers, Herbert Roy Terrell and Winston Jerome Terrell.
Her family and friends await the day, when they will welcome her back with open arms in perfect health in the resurrection when sickness and death will be no more.
