"A Time To Be 'Born"

Billie Ruth Golden was born to Alvridge Golden, Sr. and Lillian Hall Golden, on January 17, 1937 in Lake
Charles, Louisiana.

"A 'Time To Plant"

Billie was baptized at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana and remained a
faithful member until she was called home on Sunday, July 17, 2020.

" A Time To Love"

In 1956, Billie married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence James Paddio, Sr. and to this union two
sons, Lawrence James, and Marvin Carl Paddio were born. She later married Melvin Frazier of Silsbee,
Texas.

"A 'Time To Build"

Billie attended Sowela Technical Institute where she studied and received her LPN nursing license. She
worked a total of 34 years at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She served as a supervisor in the Neo-
Natal and Pediatric units. Billie was a natural caregiver and throughout the years was constantly
recognized and thanked by former patients who remembered the loving care that she gave to their
babies and young children. Billie was featured in many commercials and became known as the "Face of
the Pediatric Unit" of the hospital. She was instrumental in organizing the Nursing Union at Memorial
Hospital and was terminated for this workplace activity. She eventually was rehired and reinstated to
her previous supervisory position and granted full back pay.

"And A Time of Peace"

Billie leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Lawrence James Paddio and Marvin Carl Paddio of
Lake Charles; three sisters, Elsie G. Collier {lgnatius) of Albany, New York; Barbara G. Walker (Anthony) of
Oakland, California; Loretta G. Wilkins of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, James Paddio of Lake
Charles, Louisiana and Marvin Paddio of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Alvis M. Golden of
Lake Charles, and Laura P. Filer of Lafayette, Louisiana. She is also cherished in memory by Bessie
Gallow of Lake Charles who was a spiritual daughter.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Alvridge and Lillian Golden; brothers, Alvridge, Jr., Michael and
Jerry Golden; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline W. Paddio; and husbands, Lawrence Paddio, Sr., and Melvin
Frazier, one brother-in-law Clyde Wilkins Sr. She will be lovingly remembered by extended family, cousins, friends, co-workers, and life-long neighbors.
