She was baptized on May 19, 1945 at Sacred Heart Church; Billy was most recently baptized as an adult at the Church of Ephesus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Billy worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years with her last place of employment being Cafe Margeaux. She enjoyed catering and preparing meals for special events, family, and friends.
Billy will forever be remembered by her dearest friend Yourick Lafleur, beloved children Carl, Marilyn, Steven, and Michael Broussard, Mark Thomas, and Shedrick Kennedy, caring son and daughter-in-laws David L. Webb, Valerie, Tracie, and Lisa Broussard, Deena Thomas, and Tamika Kennedy, treasured grandchildren Christopher and Joshua Broussard, Sydney and Shelby Webb, Jasmine Thacker and Chloe Broussard, Mark, Jeremy, Kayla, Paul, and Jonathan Thomas, Karyss and Khori Kennedy, loving brothers Eldridge, Peter Allen and Joseph Thomas, and sister-in-law Silverene Thomas, along with countless nieces, nephews, family and friends whom were blessed to know her. "Betty" loved listening to music on her porch, attending church, watching movies, watering her flowers, cooking savoury dishes, and being with her family. Billy touched the lives of many people with her smile, service, and generosity, and was courageous all the way to the end. "Betty" was a devoted mother, faithful friend, and a sweet angel to the many lives she touched.
