"A Time to Be Born…" Bobbie Jean Anderson was born to Seymour Joseph
and Mildred Bailey Anderson on November 22, 1940, in Calcasieu Parish,
Lake Charles, Louisiana. Sister Bobbie Jean Anderson Lee was a woman who
deeply believed in and relied on God. When you get right down to it, she
was an exceptional mother, a caring educator, and a culinary genius – who
loved to cook and nourish others.
"A Time to Plant…" Bobbie Jean was christened and baptized by the late
Dr. W.C. Clark. She was a member of Sunshine Band, Red Circles, YWA and
Roxie Gilbert Circle #1. Later, in life as she developed a stronger
relationship with the Lord, she continued serving under the leadership of
Pastor Clark, Al Stevens, Abbie Monroe and Pastor Edward Alexander, Jr. as
President and member of Sanctuary choir, Women's choir, Youth Director,
VBS art & craft director, Baptist Training Union director, Sunday School
teacher, Deaconess and Condolence committee leader.
"A Time to Build…" Bobbie Jean built a life that mattered as a graduate of
W.O. Boston High School Class of 1958. She was a member of the Panther
Marching Band as a high stepping and twirling majorette. Graduate of Anne
Frank Beauty School, where she received her license of cosmetology at the
early age of sixteen. As a result, she became an entrepreneur, the owner and
operator of Bobbie's Beauty Shop.
She attended McNeese State University School of Nursing after she
graduated from High School. Bobbie Jean returned to McNeese to major in
Special Education after her last child graduated from High School. She
obtained over 130 clock hours while attending McNeese. Bobbie first served
as a cook at Barbe Elementary and Molo Middle School.Later, she became a paraprofessional reading tutor for Calcasieu Parish School System (Molo Middle).
A Time to Love…" In 1960 Bobbie Jean married her high school
sweetheart, John Carter. January 1963 she was united in marriage to the
love of her life, Richard Harrison Lee, Sr. They remained married until his
sudden death in February1971. From their union a son, Clinton Harrison
and a daughter, Karen Yvette was born. Her last gift of love is her baby girl,
Kimberly Junia Anderson with her dad, Robert J. Hutchinson.
"A Time to Mourn…" She was preceded in death by her sister Bernita King,
her dad Seymour Anderson, Mom Mildred Hartman, Step-dad Andrew
Hartman, Sr. and grandmother Regina Broussard Bailey.
"A Time to Depart…" Bobbie Jean departed this earthly life on Thursday, June
12, 2025 at 5:36 p.m. in her home peacefully. She leaves to cherish her
memories three children: Clinton Harrison Lee (Chronda), Karen Yvette Lee
and Kimberly Junia Anderson, four sisters: Sandra Hartman, Patricia West,
Darlene Williams (Paul) and Yolanda Anderson, four brothers: Andrew
Hartman, Jr (Priscilla), Joseph Anderson, Sr.(Terry), David West, and Allen
Rashada (Theresa). Her grandchildren are: Devin Lee Dorsey (Lee), Kellen Lee,
Amaya and Moriah Johnson. She has two great grandchildren, Kameron Austin
Lee and Savana Gracelyn Dorsey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.
Her visitation will be Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. with her funeral following at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Baptist Church. Pastor Edward Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
