Lake Charles – Bryan Denard Gatlin, 29 departed this life at 12:50 p.m., Saturday December 10, 2011 in a local hospital.

Born May 10, 1982 in Lake Charles, LA to James and Joanna Nixon-Gatlin. He was affectionately called "B", "BG" and Gatlin by this family and friends. Bryan attended Catholic School during his early educational years and graduated from Washington-Marion High School. He received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Technology/Networking Specialist at Sowela Technical Community College. Bryan enrolled at McNeese State University in the fall of 2011 to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Programming and was attending when he became seriously ill.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jacob Nixon and Minnie H. Higgins; and his paternal grandparents, Robert Gatlin and Mildred Lucille Gatlin.

He leaves to mourn his passing his father and mother, James E. and Joanna Nixon-Gatlin; sister, Angela Patrice Gatlin of Houston, TX; brother, Joshua Lindsay Gatlin of Lake Charlesm LA; his godparents, Karen Downs of Jacksonville, NC and Tommy Gatlin of Sanford, FL; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He touched the lives and hearts of many and will be greatly missed.

His homegoing celebration will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
