Burnell Peters, Sr, 71, was born August 23, 1947 to the union of Emile and Maude   Peters in Mossville, Louisiana. While surrounded by his family, the angels carried him to his heavenly home on April 3, 2019.

Burnell attended Mossville High School and later went to work for the Lake Charles Stevendores as a longshoreman. He retired as a longshoreman in 2001. He was also involved in real estate rental investment.

Burnell as many knew him was known as a lady's man. He danced to his own beat. He was a very prideful man who lived life to the fullest. He was also a father who loved his children and family. Burnell enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. His favorite football team was the New Orleans' Saints. Every year it was a treat for he and his brother, John, to go to the Southern and Grambling Football game in New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Emile, II and Alfred Peters; sisters, Gloria Williams, Shirley McKnight and Doris Marie 'Betty' Peters-Johnson.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, Burnell Peters, Jr of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jerome (Lolita) Peters of San Diego, California, Tawana (Marcus) Peters-Belizare of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Tranessa (Ricky Turner) Peters of     Statesbore, Georgia, Natasha Syed of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Kenyette (Clarence) Winters of Dallas, Texas; and his loving companion, Pamela Johnson. Memories will be cherished also by his siblings Maudrie Ross of Lake Charles, Louisiana, John Peters, Sr. of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Carolyn Peters of Sulphur, Louisiana and Linda Willmer Grice of Lake Charles,   Louisiana. His loving grandchildren will surely miss him, Jarel, Latravia and Jasmine Peters, Gracie, Elijahwon, Rickey, Julian, Dewoughan, Ra'Kessa and Travonna Turner, Christian, Devin, Nathan and Nyla Watson, La'Niya, Kordell Francis, Camari Winters, and   Briana Landry; and one great grandchild, Leilani turner.
