Carl A. Morgan, 56, died at 7:30 AM Saturday, November 23, 2013, at a local nursing facility. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on October 23, 1957 to James Jeffrey Morgan Jr and Vera Lee Morgan and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a 1975 graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended McNeese State University for a year. He was a former member of the International Longshoremen''s Association Local 2407 and worked briefly at the Borden Dairy Company. He enjoyed reading, artistic drawing, and listening to contemporary music.

He is predeceased by his father and one sister, Allison Michelle Morgan. Survivors include his mother, Vera Lee Morgan of Lake Charles; one brother, Michael Morgan (Tina) of Houston, Texas; one sister, Michelle Renee'' Morgan (Charles) of Lawrence, Kansas; a niece, Heather Johnson (Bethel) of Dallas, Texas, and grand nephew and grand niece (Bethel Johnson III and Hailey Johnson); two aunts, Verna Robertson (Webb) and Martha Wilson both of Cade, Louisiana; one uncle, Carlton Wilson, Jr of Lafayette, Louisiana and a host of cousins.

His funeral will be at 10:00 AM Friday, November 29, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lake Charles. Father Clyde Thomas will officiate. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
