On July 8, 2018 Carlos Demond Ross, Jr went home to be with his Heavenly Father. C.J. (as he was affectionally known) was born on April 22, 1999 @ 8:00 a.m. in Shreveport, Louisiana to Carlos Ross and Sicily Ross. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana. He attended Barbe High School. He was a graduate of Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program Class of 2015-1 on December 12, 2015 in Pineville, Louisiana.
C.J. loved boxing, family, working out and playing video games with his brother, Nicholas. C.J. was an outgoing charismatic individual. He was easily liked and loved by everyone he met. He never met a stranger. He was a loquacious speaker. He was the family sweetheart. He was many people's sounding board, being a great listener and motivator. He was a hard worker who started working at the age of sixteen. At the time of his death, he was employed at Sonic. He put his all into everything he did. His second boxing match he became the 2017 Crowley Major Invitational Champion with a 1st Round Knockout. He also was the 2017 Diamond Gloves Champion. Carlos had dreams of becoming a famous boxer and providing for his family.
C.J. memories will forever be cherished by his parents, Sicily Ross (Stanley), Carlos Ross, Sr. (Shanta); three siblings, Ashlyn Simien of Iowa, Louisiana; Meghan Ross (Klay) and Nicholas Ross all of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Godparents, Jamie Lemonier, Sr. and Yvette Simien. His maternal grandparents, Harry and Lou Lemonier; paternal grandparents, Velma Landry, Joseph Ross (Georgiana). One niece, Lyla Rose Williams who was two weeks old at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents, Eurick and Lillian Guillory; great grandparents, Martin and Antonia Lemonier; and uncle Stafford K. Lemonier; paternal great grandfather, Joseph Ross, Sr; great grandmother, Ruth Porche'; and great grandfather, Tommy James Currie. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends .
