My mother was a kind, loving, sincere and generous person who was always there to help anyone in need. She was my friend. I will always cherish and remember the good times and the beautiful things she did for me and others.
Carolyn Ann Mayo Boutte was the first of three children born to Robert and Irene Mayo on February 23, 1951. Carolyn was united in Holy Matrimony to Ralph Boutte. From this union one child, Bobby "Buck" Boutte was born. She was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. As the operator of the family owned business, Mayo's Grocery for 19 years, her commitment to the community and the desire to carry on her parents business was evident to family, friends and customers.
Her precious memories will be cherished by a family who loved her dearly. She leaves behind her son, Bobby Boutte, her mother Irene Mayo, her siblings; Mary Dell Mayo and James Mayo (Cissy Sims) and her nephew, Briar Mayo. She also leaves behind her aunts, Laura Mayo, Helen Jones, Emmaline Winford, Anna Fredricks and Willie Mae Dugas of Port Arthur, TX. Her uncles Gilbert Mayo of Lake Charles, Donald Mayo & Leroy Semien of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Mayo and a host of aunts and uncles.
Carolyn's loving memory will live through the Mayo and Semien families.
Her funeral will be at 12 noon Saturday, April 28, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Marcus Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9a.m. Saturday in Combre Funeral Home.
