Carrie Pearl Ryan Jones was born March 13, 1926, to the union of John and Lillie Chavis Ryan in Lake Charles, LA. She departed this life on Sunday, March 30, 2014.
Carrie Pearl, known as "Sister" to many, lived all of her life in Lake Charles. On January 2, 1944, she married Vincent Jones, Sr. To this union 8 children were born. Pearl dedicated her life to being a good wife and mother. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and attended mass faithfully.
Pearl loved the outdoors and could be often found working in her gardens or cutting her grass. She shared the fruits of her labor with her family and friends, bringing them fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, and peppers. She was an extremely giving, caring person who always offered to help others.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Jones, Sr. Her children, Lucille Jones, Vincent Jones, Jr., and Theresa Jones McKnight. Her parents, John and Lillie Ryan, and one brother, Henry Ryan.
She leaves to cherish her memory her 5 children, Marie Jones, Carolyn Jones of Lake Charles, LA; Therman Jones (Marjorie) of Sugar Land, TX; Alvin Jones (Lanita) of Lewisville, TX; and Herman Jones of McKinney, TX. 7 Grandchildren, Damon Jones of Granada, Nicaragua; Marcus Jones of Houston, TX; Michael Clayton of Fort Worth, TX; Melanie Clayton of Fort Worth, TX; James Clayton of Ruston, LA; Ty and Taylor Jones of Lewisville, TX. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also cherish fond memories of Pearl.
Her funeral will be held at Noon, Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1102 Mill Street. A visitation will be held at Combre Funeral Home from 9:00am until 11:45am the morning of the funeral.
