Catherine Guillory Rideaux, 83 of Lake Charles, Louisiana departed this life in a local hospital on December 5, 2011. She was born on August 16, 1928 to the late Alice Malveaux Guillory and Frances Carlton Guillory in LeBeau, LA. A devoted wife and mother, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband the late Hurd Rideaux, daughter Bernadette Rideaux, grandson Russell Leday, 2 brothers Carlton Guillory and John Calvin Guillory and 3 sisters Theresa Tezeno, Earline Collins and Ella Mae Morris. She is survived by her daughters Catherine Rideaux Jackson, Carolyn Rideaux, Mary Rideaux-Bobb, Yvonne Rideaux Honore, Debbie Rideaux Cormier and Angela Rideaux Mosley; sons Joseph Rideaux, David Rideaux and 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Alice Lemelle, Savannah Villery and Mary Pauline Topps.

A devout Catholic, Catherine was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her faith and love of God was evident in her work with the Alter and Rosary Society, 3rd Degree Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Peter Claver St. Rita Court #31, 4th Degree Ladies of Grace, St. Joseph Society and League of the Sacred Heart. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Senior Citizens, Bingo Committee and was an usher and Eucharistic minister. Catherine was formerly employed in social services for the Gulf Assistance Program.

A wake will be held at Combre Funeral Home on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 6 pm to 9 pm with the Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm December 10, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
