I am in Heaven, dear ones, all's so happy, all's so bright! There's perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief are over, every restless tossing passed. I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last.

On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, the angel of silence appeared before our beloved Cecile and her soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal glory.

Cecile Guidry was born August 3, 1919 in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late William and Amelia St. Andrew; later moving to her current home of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Cecile was one of 9 children born in her loving family. Blessed early in youth, Cecile valued her strong Christian foundation and continued her growth as a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Cecile was preceded in death by her parents William and Amelia St. Andrew; husband Willis Guidry; daughter Janet Orphey; son James Guidry; two grandsons Lamar Allison and Shawn Guidry; five brothers and three sisters.

Mourning her departure, yet cherishing the beautiful memories of her love and devotion, are her loving daughters Rena Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri; Sarah Moore of Bossier City, Louisiana; Emily Guidry of Los Angeles,  California; Geraldine Brown of Oakland, California; Barbara Bargeman of Sylmar, California; Mary Guidry Mack of Oakland, California; Judy Guidry of Oakland, California; Evelyn Brooks of Killeen, Texas; Cheryl Jefferson of Houston, Texas; Brigitte Geyen of Houston, Texas; two sons Gerald Guidry of Sarasota, Florida; Reginald Guidry of Jacksonville, North  Carolina; 32 grandchildren which includes Keba Orphey who took special care of her; 50 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other  relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Marcus Johnson will officiate with Deacon Elray Bushnell, assisting. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Combre Funeral Home.
