Obituary

Charles C. Ellis Jr. gained his wings on October 4, 2020 and was reunited with his loving wife Ruby Lee Ellis of over 33yrs of marriage who gained her wings in 2008.

Charles C. Ellis Jr. was born on June 4, 1953 in Ferriday Louisiana to the late Annie Lee Ellis and Charles C. Ellis Sr. He was the 4th of seven children. Daniel Michael Ellis, Jerry Ellis, Frankie Ellis who proceeded him as an infant, Carolyn Ellis, Corrine Ellis Walker and Malcom Earl Ellis.

Charles Obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from North East Louisiana University. He was also a published Author. Charles became a Christian at a very early age. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church here in Lake Charles, La where he was a Deacon and served on various committees and boards over the years.

Charles' passion and love was in Service to the Community. His Motto was Equal rights and Equal Justice for all no matter what the law or procedure that was written to Govern the land. He felt every Human had the right to live without the interference of oppression and the powers that be. He was a member of the NAACP, Rainbow Coalition, and for many years served on the Black Heritage Committee here in Lake Charles, La.

Charles worked as a dedicated employee of Citco Petroleum Refinery for over 40yrs where he retired as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at Citco Petroleum.

Left to continue his legacy is 3 Children, Danielle Ellis-Simon(Carl Simon) of Katy, TX, Charles Ellis III (Keisha Jones Ellis) of Ft. Benning, Georgia, and Mark Ellis of Lake Charles Louisiana. His Five grandchildren, Brooke Simon, Carl Simon Jr., Charles Ellis IV, MaKenzi Ellis, Layla Ellis and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.

Charles will forever be remembered for his legacy of Community Service, giving heart and his great sense of Humor. He has touched so many of us along the way. There will never be another and can't be replaced the Legacy that Charles will leave for us to carry on.

There will never be another like him. Often Imitated but can never be Duplicated the Passion, tenacity, love, caring and humorous spirit of Charles C. Ellis Jr.
