Early Thanksgiving Morning, Charlotte Mildred Murphy, 89 entered into eternal rest to join her parents Isaac Murphy & Bertha McGaffey, Brother Henry Pickery, Sisters Rosemary McGaffey, Vera L. Williams and Ivory J. Perryman.

Charlotte Was born March 1, 1924 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Isaac Murphy and Bertha McGaffey. She was educated at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Charlotte worked in many capacities during her life but especially enjoyed her work as a salesperson for Sloans and The Fashions. After retirement she was a Foster Grandparent for Calcasieu Parish School Board Headstart Program. Spending time entertaining with family and friends is what she treasured most. Thanksgiving and Mother''s Day were her favorite family gatherings.

Charlotte joined Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. She was a faithful member until her health began to fade. Charlotte loved her church dearly and was a faithful servant. Charlotte served on the Usher Board, Mission: Jeanette Mouton Circle # 4 and the Hospitality Committee. She worked every summer with Vacation Bible School.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Winifred G. Augustus and Margaret G. Lawrence (Donnie) of Houston Texas, Alice Murphy- Broussard (Kevin) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Sons Gervis Guidry of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Johnnie Brown (Abby) of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, and Milan Murphy (Cynthia) of Upper Marlboro Maryland, Grandchildren Warrick Guidry, Hope & Courtney Augustus, Johnnie, Jeremy & Faith Brown, Gregory Lawrence and Porsche & Christopher Murphy. Nieces, Davetta Redd, Frieda Rigmaiden (Kerry), Marie Stewart, Brenda Hebert, Verlene Howard and Karen Hebert. Nephews, David Perryman, Robert Perryman, Jr. (Melissa) and Joe Hebert. Brother-in-Law Robert L. Perryman Sr., Her dearest friend Mrs. Bernice Lewis. 15 great grandchildren and a host of great nieces and nephews and friends.

Services will be Saturday December 7, 2013. Viewing: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and the Funeral will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church 646 South Franklin Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70601, The Rev. Robert Campbell, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
