Lake Charles - Clara D. Guillory, 68, passed away quietly in her home on Monday, January 6, 2014, her 68th birthday. She was born on January 6, 1946 in Mallet, LA to the late Melvin and Lillian Guillory.

Clara was devoted to her family, community and her Heavenly Father. She never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone. Being an avid news watcher, she was always ready for a discussion on politics and world issues. She was always willing to help anyone in need but only after she expressed her words of wisdom. She believed in the power of prayer and enjoyed telling people about God. She had a great love for children, especially her great nieces and nephews and her granddaughter, Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Deuwell, Willie, Freddie, Lionel and James; three sisters, Lucille, Sylvia and Linda.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Rachelle DeJean and husband Merrick; granddaughter, Madison DeJean; her brother, Burley Guillory (Willie Mae) of Opelousas, LA., her sisters, Dora Guillory and Mary DeJean of Lake Charles , Audrey Jackson (Robert) and Marjorie Johnson-Craine (E''Delano) of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 11, in Combre Funeral Home, Lake Charles. Pastor Gary Evers will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 am Saturday at the funeral home.
