Obituary

Clarence David Hardy Jr. passed away on November 19th, 2018 in Lafayette,
Louisiana surrounded by his family and friends.

Clarence was a God-fearing family man of integrity, respect and purpose as God
made him to be. He loved his life and his family deeply. He was a passionate
mechanic who loved building and working on antique vehicles of all types. He was
a renaissance man. No one was a stranger, he was a storyteller, a joker, and had
many friends from all walks of life. He was a role model to many young men. He
had a wonderful retirement after a 38 year long career at Hercules (now
LyondelBasell) where he was a machinist. Clarence proudly served in the United
States Army from 1966-1969 in Vietnam as part of the 1st Aviation Brigade. He
was also a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a proud member
of the VFW Post 7321, American Legion Post 551 and the Teamsters.

He leaves to cherish his memory Maureen, his loving wife of 38 years
affectionately call (by him only) "Pete!". Clarence and Maureen shared a special
bond that all could see was pure love. He is survived by his children, Charlyne
Hardy, Morganfield (Derrick) of Hinesville, Georgia, Christopher Reese Haley of
Columbia, South Carolina, Clarence Hardy III of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Chad
Hardy of Katy, Texas and Craig Hardy of Mary Ester, Florida, and a special kinda
nephew, Maques Pete of San Diego, California; Grandchildren, Taleah Fisher
(Anthony), BreAna and TeAna Morganfield; Great-grandchildren, JaNiyah and
Ashton; Brother-in-law, Mark Pete; Three sisters, Judy Kennedy of Los Angeles,
California, Shelia Maddox of Denver, Colorado, Sybil Smith (Albert) of New
Orleans, Louisiana and one brother, Terry Spiller (Dee) of Breaux Bridge,
Louisiana. Also cherishing his memory are two uncles, Sam and Matthew Jones,
and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edna (Jones)
Hardy Sr.
