IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Claude Lewis
Edwards Sr.
September 19, 1927 – July 17, 2019
God showed His blessing upon Hardy and Anna Lee Edwards on October 19, 1927 with the birth of their first child, and a baby boy, named Claude Lewis was given to them.
Brother Edwards accepted God as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of the New Sunlight Baptist Church.
He attended Mossville Elementary and Middle Schools. He was a former employee of Strategic Petroleum Reserve until his retirement.
In March 1948 he united in Holy Matrimony with Geraldine Edwards for 55 years. She preceded him in death in 2003. To this union, they were blessed with five children; three boys and two girls.
He leaves to cherish his memories and continue his legacy his sister, Murdis Milton; children, Pamela E. Fontenot, Larry (Bertha) Edwards, Mitchell (Barbara) Edwards all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; twelve grand- children; thirty great grandchildren; fifteen great great grand-children, a godchild, Windy Steward Taylor; daughter-in-law, Ethel Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Edwards; son, Claude Edwards, Jr; daughter, Barbara Elizabeth Gallien; two sisters, Joyce Prater and Herley Steward; three brothers, Cluster, McKeever and Clarence Edwards; grandson, and Joseph Babineaux.
