Obituary

On Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 at 8:05 pm, Clinton Fobbs Sr., 91, of LakeCharleswas called to his final resting place, in his residence.

Clinton Fobbs Sr. was born July 4, 1923 in Big Lake, Louisiana. After serving in the United States Navy for a short time, he became alocal truck driverfor Herrin Transportation, later to retire from McLean Trucking. He served as an Usher for St. Henry Catholic Church, where he was amember for overthirty years. Clinton enjoyed the simple things in life. From being Mr.Fix it with theattempts to make old broken things work, to a serious fan of the AtlantaBraves. For him,a quiet afternoon with family, fried catfish, a potato salad sandwich, topped off with agood piece of cake, was just perfect. Clinton was a loving and devotedfather. Hisfamily meant the world to him. He loved even the furthest distantrelatives just as muchas the closest of kin. To him, there was no difference, friends werefamily.

He not only believed in the word of God, but lived it. His genuine lovefor peoplewas never conditional or invisible. Expressing his love for anyone whocrossedhis path came natural. Kisses and hugs, followed by the words I loveyou, were onlythe smallest tokens from his big heart. Overflowing with generosity, ona mission to shareand help in any way that he could. His larger than life personalitywould fill a room andbecome the cheer up remedy for anyone. Clinton has never met a stranger.

As a mentor to a lot of neighborhood children, everyone was welcome withopen arms.
