Obituary

Cynthia Blanchard Brown

Cynthia Blanchard Brown, a resident of Lake Charles, LA completed her earthly journey on June 24, 2017 at the age of 58. She was the firstborn of two children to Raymond and Theresa Trail Blanchard.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, and sister.

She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and St. Louis Catholic High School, graduating in 1977. She was a 1979 graduate of McNeese State University with an Associate's Degree. Cynthia spent her career with the U.S. Postal Service.  She volunteered at her Church home, Sacred Heart of Jesus, as a CCD teacher. She was a member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Ladies' Auxiliary St. Rita Court #31 where she worked closely with the Junior Daughters' Division.  She also volunteered with the Literacy Council helping the elderly read.  It suited her servant heart to be able to make a difference.

Cynthia was very committed to her daughter, Joelle, and actively supported her as a member of the Sacred Heart School PTO and as a Booster Club member at St. Louis High School for Volleyball.  She made many sacrifices to ensure that her daughter had the opportunity to excel and grow.  Cynthia was most proud of Joelle's many accomplishments.

Cynthia was a woman of many gifts and talents.  She was always welcoming when you walked through the doors of the Blanchard home.  One could not leave without partaking of a generous portion of one or more of her delicacies.  She was gifted with a green thumb and belonged to a local garden club where her peppers and tomatoes took first in show! The house was always festive for every holiday and her spirit and generosity will forever continue to bless the Blanchard home and the Fisherville community.

Those left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her daughter, Joelle Brown of Chicago, Illinois, mother, Theresa Blanchard of Lake Charles, LA, brother, Dr. Loren Blanchard of Long Beach, California, god-children Michelle Ross and Chasity Richard-Williams; and a host of relatives and special friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Raymond Blanchard; paternal grandparents, Frank and Cora Blanchard and maternal grandparents Joseph Quelin and Admonia Trail.
