In Loving Memory of Davin Dan Guillory a.k.a. G-Red, Uncle Dum-Dum, & DeeDee

Davin Guillory born October 1, 1971 to the union of Joseph and Harriet (Babineaux) Guillory. Davin departed this life on March 3, 2025 at the age of 53. He fought a long and courageous battle with illness, always showing strength, resilience, and grace through the toughest of times.

Davin was a man who devoted his life to his children they shared a deep unending love, brother and sister, with whom he shared a special bond.  His warm heart and generous spirit were felt by all who knew him. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel loved, valued, and cared for—he would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

A true lover of life's simple pleasures, Davin had a passion for cooking, often delighting his family with his culinary creations. Watching and supporting his children at softball, basketball games the most. His love for good food was rivaled only by his affection for collecting and wearing nice tennis shoes and a ball cap to match, a hobby that he proudly embraced with a sense of style that made him stand out. In addition to these joys, Davin had a deep love for zydeco music, and when the rhythm played, he was known to be an incredible dancer, moving with the music in a way that brought energy to any room. Whether in the kitchen or on the dance floor, Davin's zest for life was contagious, and he made every moment feel special.

He leaves behind not just memories, but a legacy of kindness, unconditional love, and an example of selflessness. His sense of humor, his generosity, and his ability to bring people together will never be forgotten.

Davin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Guillory and Harriet Babineaux-Citizen, paternal grandparents Eurick and Lillian Guillory, maternal grandparents Elinus and Alberta Babineaux, Nephew Brandon Merritt. Davin memory is cherished by his beloved children, Shamarah Victorian of Houston, TX; Lashayla Victorian, Jaiden Victorian, and Ka'le Guillory all of Lake Charles, LA, his loving companion Latoya Gordon; Step-Mom, Estelle Guillory; siblings, Shonna (Thomas) Merritt, Jobe (Danielle) Guillory all of Lake Charles, Chris (Leti) Citizen of California; Merry (Eugene) Skinner-Milbry, Sherry Skinner and Brandy Skinner, all of Houston, TX.

Godchildren, Quinlynn Iles, Ashley Celestine, Kyjah Woods, Jenea Bushnell.

Nieces Shaina Merritt and Briana Merritt; nephew, Tarren Merritt, all of Lake Charles, LA; great nieces and nephews, Riley Merritt, Ava Eugene, Rhaje Joseph, Calynn Eugene, and Tylin Joseph all of Lake Charles, LA and a host of family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever.

Rest in peace, Daddy. You will be dearly missed, but your love and light will remain with us forever.

His visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2025  from 8:00 A.M. in Combre Funeral Home with his funeral following at 11:00 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
