Lake Charles- Dawn P. Jackson Jones, 55, died at 1:35 p.m .E.T Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY.

She was a native of Independence, LA, and lived in Lake Charles for 30 years. She was a registered nurse for 22 years. She was working as a clinical advisor for Humana Health Insurance in Metairie, LA. She was a proud member of Glad Tiding Church and Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. She was a wonder wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, community leader and mentor.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Jones Sr. of Lake Charles; two sons Tobias Jackson and Terry Jones Jr.; two daughters Terrilyn Jones and Varsha Jones all of Lake Charles; her mother, Helen Johnson of Independence; Two grandchildren Isaiah Jones of Marietta, GA and Jaxson Roberts of Meridian, MS; Seven sisters Cynthia Wilson of Miami, Fl., Melisa (Leroy) Williams of Frisco,TX ., Carey Watson of Alexandria, VA., Eugenia (Daryl) Watson-Coates of Bradywine, MD. , Shayla Jackson, of Lake Charles, LA, and O'Keisha Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA. Five Brothers Jeffery (Bridgett) Jackson of Lake Charles; John Michael Jackson of Grand Rapids, M.I. , John Marshall Jackson III of Fort Worth, TX., Kekouya Jackson of Bogalusa, LA and Bryan (Patrice) Jackson of Odessa, Tx.

She was preceded in death by her father John Jackson Jr., Step father Primel Johnson, Her grandparents Beulah D. Watson and John Jackson Sr., and Elijah and Clara Brown and one brother Richard Levi.

There will be a visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 29 at Combre Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Her funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Living Word Christian Center in Lake Charles. She will be buried at Combre Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service Saturday.
