Deborah "Maxie" Malvo, 72 transitioned peacefully from this life on November 27, 2024 at her home. She was born November 7, 1952 to the late Robert and Bertha Malvo in Lake Charles, La. Maxie was a lifelong member of New Light Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Isiah Thibodeaux, Jr and current Pastor Dr. Troy Thibodeaux; she was a faithful tither and served as secretary of Sunday school, principal of Vacation Bible school, a member of the choir, attended prayer meeting and bible study until her health failed her. She was a devoted mother to her two children Wesley Troy and Mishayla Blaire.
She was a graduate of Washington high school, class of 1970 and attended Lamar State College in Orange, Texas. She retired from Calcasieu Parish school board. She later went on to care for others as a sitter.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bertha; and her siblings Reginald, Robert and Ray Malvo. Maxie leaves behind a family rooted in faith and love and is survived by her son Wesley Malvo (Lake Charles) and daughter Mishayla Vincent (Kass) (Lake Charles); her grandchildren Savannah and Madison Malvo (Lake Charles) and 1 great granddaughter Harmonie Malvo (Lake Charles). Siblings Barbara Jean Prater (John), Joan Price, Clifford Malvo, Ruth Curry (Jessie) all of Lake Charles and Robert Lute (Oklahoma); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
