Surrounded by family, Debra Denise (Lavergne) Hardaway was granted her angel wings on Sunday, March 29, 2015, in her residence.

Debra Denise, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and daughter of Juanita Lavergne was born on July 14, 1962 in Lake Charles.

Baptized at an early age, Debra Denise was a faithful member of Christian Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Edward Alexander, Jr. She was a dedicated member who rode the church van every Sunday. Debra served on the Hospitality committee along side Sisters Beatrice Dixon and Joyce Jackson. She also sang with the Women''s Choir. Debra worked diligently with the Vacation Bible school and Harvest Fest. She remained a faithful member of Christian Baptist Church until illness set in.

Debra Denise (Lavergne) Hardway memories will be cherished by her mother Juanita Lavergne; sister Patricia Lavergne and brother Stafford Lavergne; aunts Linda Faye (Clifford) Miller, Sheryl Lavergne and Gloria Lavergne; nieces Tiffany, LaShae and LaShawn; two nephews; six great nephews and one niece; also cherishing her memories are her lifelong friends Mrs. Pye Brown, Stephanie Thomas, Wynetta Chretien, Ella Brown and Myrtle Kay Prude, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana and a host of cousins, other close family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Joyce Mae Lavergne; uncle Coach Robert Lavergne; aunt and uncle Willie Mae and Joseph Vallean.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: April 4, 2015

Funeral will be at 11am Saturday, April 4, in Christian Baptist (North Location). The Rev. Edward Alexander Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9am Saturday in the church.
