Obituary

On Wednesday, November 12, 1969, a Heavenly being was manifested on Earth; the being was called Delron Jerome Gordon and was first sighted in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Delron's mother gained her Heavenly wings before he saw his first birthday. Delron lived most of his childhood years in Westlake and attended schools in Westlake and Muskogee, Oklahoma while in the care of his maternal grand-parents, the late Leon and Geraline Banks and Aunt Linda and Uncle{Rev) James Harris respectively. He was baptized at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Henry Brooks at a young age where he grew to learn of God's grace, mercy and forgiving power. In his adult years, he lived in Oklahoma, Washington State, and Alaska eventually returning home to Westlake. The manifestation ceased after
52 years on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, after several months of declining health.

Dee (Melissa) was usually the life of most any gathering he attended. He was usually a quiet and gentle man that loved his family. He may not have had all the material things of this world, but he would give you what he had even if it meant he went without. Dee was not complex or complicated and would offer a word of encouragement if he knew you needed it. If you ask any family member who was Momo's favorite, the reply would be Dee. Through the good, bad and indifferent factors of life, Dee knew his testimony could help anyone realize that things could always be worse. He would often say, "Keep your head up; everything will work out okay."

Big Dee, as he was affectionally known by many, was most protected by his sister and only sibling, Mikki. As a young child, if Mikki would be given something, she would often remind people that she had a brother that liked whatever she was given. Mikki and Dee had the best of both worlds; being spoiled by grandparents and having aunts and uncles as big sisters and brothers. Mikki loved her brother with all the love and more that one sibling could have toward another. If Dee needed and Mikki had it, Dee had it. When Mikki would come home to Westlake on military leave and after she retired, she and Dee were inseparable. Dee and Mikki shared a special bond based in low' they were
proud of each other.
