Dennis Joseph Kennerson Jr. was born November 29, 1947, in Lafayette, LA, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Dennis (Elnora) Kennerson Sr. He was known to many of his CB friends as Six Double Deuce (622) and Mr. Roots.
Dennis graduated from Dunbar High School in 1968, in Washington, LA. During his high school years, he played football, baseball and ran track. After graduation, Dennis married his high school sweetheart Laura Louise Henry and moved to Lake Charles, LA. He worked for St. Patrick's Hospital for several years as the housekeeping supervisor. He later retired from PPG Refinery after 38 years of employment. He was an active and devoted brother of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, being a CB handler, cutting the grass, going to Wal-Mart, and peeking into the pots when his wife cooked, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Dennis departed this life on Monday, November 27, at the age of 69, in Lake Charles, LA. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 48 years, Laura Henry-Kennerson, one son Keven (Charlene) Kennerson Sr., two daughters Tanesia (Kerry) James and LaShonda Kennerson. Eight grandchildren Jachobie, Kevin Jr., Kendrick, Carrington, Brooklyn, Journee, Zharian, and Kylon. He was also blessed to share a special relationship with his five sister-in-laws, Betty, Wanda, Lisa, Shelika, Sharon and his five brother-in-laws, Elvin II, Wayne, Lionel Sr., Michael and Willie. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Dennis (Elnora) Kennerson Sr. and his sister Delores Kennerson.
