Dianne Margaret August Simon, 69, was born January 11, 1947, in Ville Plate, Louisiana to the late Sterling J. August, Sr. and Lena August. She departed this life on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in a local hospital.

Although she was a native of Ville Plate, Louisiana, Dianne lived in Lake Charles for 60 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and worked for the City of Lake Charles for 35 years.

Dianne leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Shannon Simon Carter and her sons, Thomas (Nikita) Simon, Jr. and Bradford J. (Xaviera) Simon, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Courtland J. Carter, Cameron R. Carter, Colby L. Carter, Aaron T. Simon, Aidan T. Simon, Bradley T. Simon, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Morgan D. Simon of Houston, Texas; her great-granddaughter, Laila D. Carter of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her brothers, Clarence (Lou Anne) August, Warren August, and Sterling J. (Bernadette) August, Jr., all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her sister, Shirley (Phillip) Robertson of Pasadena, California; her sister-in- laws, Gwendora August and Luvertha August, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her darling little Chihuahua, Cutie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Simon, Sr.; her brothers, Lawrence August, Atlin "Grim" August and Allen P. August, Sr.; and her parents.

Service date: April 5, 2016

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 12:00 noon with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:40 am at Combre Funeral Home with a Rosary at 10:00 am.
