Donald Lerevette Hill, Sr. was born to the union of Joseph Hill and Rose Hill-Lloyd on January 16, 1939 in Augusta, Georgia and grew up in New York City.

Donald served in the U. S Navy for 13 years acquiring the rank of Quarter Master 2, It was during this time that he gave his life to Christ,

Brother Hill was employed by the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan as a correctional officer for 34 years.

He will be forever cherished by wife: Dorothy Hill of Lake Charles; brother: Bobby (Charlene) Hill; sisters: Patricia McInnis and Victoria (Eddie) Howard, all of Detroit, Michigan; sisters-in-law: Judy Lloyd of Augusta, Georgia, Isabelle Hill of Sunland, California, Esther M. Davis and Thelma Jones of Lacassine and Velma Binkley of Lake Charles; daughters: Donna M. McCoy and Shirley M. Hill of Detroit, Michigan, and Jacqueline B. (Craig, Sr.) Boyd of Pontiac, Michigan; Son: Donald L. Hill, Jr. of Washington, D. C.; granddaughters: Jade A. Chung, Ciara D. Gresham, Samantha M. Hill and Raven A. Hill; grandson: Derek D. Washam, Jr.; and great-granddaughter: Parisha A. Chung.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Hill; brothers, Richard Hill and Larry Lloyd; and grandson, Craig G. Boyd, Jr.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: January 18, 2014

His funeral will be at 1:30pm Saturday, January 18, in Combre Funeral Home. Burial will be in Houston National Cemetery. Visitation is from 12pm -1:30pm in Combre Funeral Home on Saturday.
