Donna Renee Edwards, 66, of Lake Charles, LA gained her halo and wings on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Cornerstone Hospital.

Donna was born May 10, 1957, in Lake Charles, LA to Massarie Norris. She was the second of six kids: Raymond Norris, Jackie Charles, Bridgette West, Keith Norris, Thelma Norris, and half-brother Jason Fontenot.  She attended W. O. Boston High School. Donna married Curtis Edwards of Crowley, LA in May of 1998. She loved and spoiled her Goddaughters Corine Lewis and Justus Cooper, Godson Chris Angel.

Donna worked at Sears for several years in the facilities department.  After Sears, Donna worked at AAA Building Maintenance and McNeese State University in the facilities department for over 20 years, then later retired. After retirement, Donna provided the best childcare in Lake Charles, where she nurtured and cared for her godchildren and others. In her free time, you would catch Donna traveling with family members, preparing baked goods and meals, playing her favorite electronic games or at bingo socializing with peers.

She accepted Christ at an early age and then became an active member at Philadelphia Church of God in Christ under the guidance of Elder Roger Cain. At Philadelphia, she worked with the children's ministry, was an usher, sang in the choir, and traveled with youth. Later, Renee was an active member at the Church at Lake Charles under the guidance of Frederick LaFleur.

She leaves to cherish and carry on her memory Raymond (Cynthia) Norris of San Antonio, Tx, Jackie (Tony) Mouton of New Iberia, LA, Bridgette West of Mount Clemons, MI, Keith (Thelma) Norris of Huntsville, AL, Thelma Norris (Carl Hudson) of Lake Charles, LA and Jason Fontenot of Lake Charles, Godchildren, nieces, nephews, church members, family, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Massarie Norris in December 1997 and her husband Curtis Edwards in November 2013.
