Mrs. Dorothy Mae Dunbar was born July 8, 1943 in Rayne, La. She was first of five children. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Mary Gertie Francis and William Granger.

Dorothy was an active member of Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic Church until her health failed and she could no longer attend service. Dorothy met and married the love of her life, John N. Dunbar Sr., to this union five children were born, one daughter, Sharon Denise Dunbar Barnes (Harry) of Beaumont, Texas, Rodney Wayne Dunbar of Lake Charles, La., John N. Dunbar Jr (Donna) of Bluffton, S.C., Randy Lewis Dunbar (Vickie) of Fenton, La., and Herman Williams Dunbar (Ardey) of Westlake, La.

Two sibling preceded her in death, a sister, Debra Ann Wyatt; and a brother, Daniel Joseph Peer; one grandson, Harry Barnes Jr.She is survived by two brothers, Herman Gauthier (Freda) of Lake Charles, La., and John Williams Sr. of Lake Charles, La. Dorothy was a wonderful grandmother to nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dorothy loved to Zydeco dance and being with her family.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: August 29, 2015

Visitaton will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, in Combre Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
