Dorothy G. Pete, 66, was called home on Tuesday, October 2,2012 at 8:30 pm, at Methodist hospital in Houston, TX. She was born in Colfax, Louisiana on November 8,1945 to the late Annie Lee Gray and Eli Jones both of Colfax. She was a graduate from W.O Boston. She continued her education at McNeese State University where she went on to obtain her Masters in Education. She taught for 35 years and she retired in 2005. She taught at Starks, Moss Bluff Middle and Moss Bluff Elementary.
Dorothy was a Faithful Member of the Evergreen Missionary Baptist church. There she was the leader of the J.L. Hayes Circle, a Sanctuary Choir member and a Vacation Bible school teacher.She leaves to cherish her memories daughter Cheryl Pete and son Fredrick(LaSandra) Pete both of Lake Charles. She has four grandchildren, Sydnee Atkins-Pete, Keylen Pete ,Kendrick Pete, and Kalob Pete all of Lake Charles. Brother, Donald Boyd of Houston, TX. Sister, Martha Jones of Alexandria, LA. Aunts, Lizzy Gray of Colfax and Idel Brown of Alexandria ,LA. Special Cousin, Lilly Marie Conway of Pineville, LA.
Her funeral will be at 1pm Saturday, October 13,2012 at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 646 S. Franklin Street, Lake Charles Louisiana. Pastor Robert E. Campbell, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral home. Visitation will be at 11am at the church.
