Duplecie John Joseph Simien was born on Feb. 23,1937 in Welsh, Louisiana to the union of August Simien and Josephine Carrier Simien. On Wednesday Feb. 13, 2013 Duplecie (Brother) departed this earthly life and went to join his Savior.
Duplecie (Brother) was baptized by the Catholic Church in Iowa, Louisiana and then moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana. He worked for labor union #207 for many years. Until he departed for Los Angeles, California. There he worked as a delivery driver. Brother accepted Christ early in life and united with First AME church in Los Angeles, California. He retired in 1999 and moved to Pueblo, Colorado.
He is survived by his wife of 27yrs May Frances Simien of Pueblo, Colorado; Two daughter's Georgia (Joe) Brown of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Jackeline (Carl) Person of Dallas, Texas; Two sons Kelvin (Jerry) Simien Palo Pinto, Texas; Keith Simien Oceanside, California; One adopted son Kliffton L. Dansby; Two brothers Harry Lee (Jean) Simien and Marshell (Nolia) Simien of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Twenty-Two grandchildren and Ten grate-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, August and Josephie Simien of Lake Charles, Louisiana. One sister Rose Martin; Two brothers Jimmey and J.E Simien of Lake Charles, Louisiana; One son Pernell (Joseph) Simien.
Duplecie (Brother) loved traveling, loved fishing, hunting and cooking. He will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA.
