Easter Mae Belizare, age 87, went home to be the Lord on May 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born to Thomas Ardoin and Lydia Tate on August 17, 1934 in Elton, LA. Due to her mother passing while Easter was very young, she was adopted by her teacher, Miss Alberta Hackett.
Easter was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. She was a domestic homemaker. As a Foster parent for 37 years, over 235 foster children were blessed by her warm and loving home. She was a longtime member of Reeves C.M.E. Temple Church. Some of the civic and social affiliations that Easter had membership in were: State of Louisiana Foster Parent Association, Les Madames Oregena Civic Club, Flamingo Social Club, Former member of Queen of the South, OES #14, and Heroines of Jericho, Daughters of Isis Court #124. Prior to her Home Going, she accepted Yah as her Master and Savior and His son, Yahshua, His Only Begotten Son.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Belizare of 57 years; parents, Thomas Ardoin, Lydia Tate, and Alberta Hackett; sisters, Lilly Mae Ardoin, Flora Mae Ardoin, and MaryLou Bertha Yokum; and brother, Sidney Ardoin; daughters, Doris Sweeney and Gloria Brown; and sons, James Cooper and Patrick Frank.
Cherishing her precious memories are her children, Eva (Louis) Marks, Veronica (Ernest) Williams, and Rose Mary (Greg) Mitchell all of Houston, TX and Marcus (Tawana) Belizare of Lake Charles, LA; only living brother, James Hackett; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
