Edward Taylor was born in Ragley,La., on August 1, 1921 to the late Henry and Dora Taylor. He has been a resident ofLake Charles,La., for over 87 years where he attended the Second Ward Color School. He was married to the late Hazel Caligan Taylor for over 59 years.
He was baptized at an early age and was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church for over 55 years. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army. He retired from Concrete Pipe and Steel after working for them for over 34 years.
He departed his life on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at around 1:30 p.m. at his resident. Service will be Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Combre Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 p.m. located at1200 Mill Street Lake Charles,La.70601. Officiating the service will be by the Rev. Kerry Vincent of the New Emanuel Baptist Church, Pastor Rowland Mouton. Viewing will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Caligan Taylor; father Henry Taylor and mother Dora Sias Taylor; one brother George Taylor and one sister Florence Taylor.
He leaves to cherish is memory one nephew, Robert Taylor, four nieces Shirley Foster of (Dover,Del.)Ruby Taylor, Alziner Jordan and Rosie Bea Taylor of (Renton, Wa.) one great nephew Edward Charles(Viola) Singleton, one great niece Laneish(Anthony)Orphey, two godchildren, Ernestine(Kerry)Vincent, Michael(Olivia)O'Brien, a great host of great great nieces, nephews and friends.
