Elaine Marie DeVille, age 67, died peacefully on August 21, 2014 at her new home in Bourg, La with a brief struggle with congestive heart failure. She was surrounded by family. Elaine was born on December 24, 1946 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Jimmy and Marion DeVille.
Elaine enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren; teaching them her favorite recipes, and how to prepare them. In addition, to being a wonderful and loving grandmother Elaine was also the mother of nine children.
Besides raising and caring for her nine children Elaine worked extensively for most days of her life. She enjoyed being independent and working for the things she and her children required; even up until her last days. Elaine was brought up as a catholic with strong belief in the Catholic faith and a strong belief in God. She frequently possessed her rosary beads and prayed heavily upon them.
Elaine is survived by her three sisters: Rita Guillory, and her husband Eldridge Guillory, Delores Richard and Mary Victorian.
Elaine is also survived by her eight children: Kimberly Sirls, Mary DeVille, Trevis DeVille, and Jacoby DeVille; all of Houston, Texas; Sabrina DeVille and Troy De Ville of Houma; Ron DeVille and Stephen DeVille of Lake Charles, and she now shares a space in heaven with her deceased daughter Schwann DeVille. Moreover, she leaves behind 19 grandchildren; including two by marriage, and one great granddaughter. Elaine also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and cousins; alongside a host of other family and friends.

Service date: August 27, 2014
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members and friends at the Combre cemetery, immediately after the viewing at Combre funeral home, from 9 am -12 pm, Wednesday August 27, 2014.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Combre funeral home.
