Elijah Weston Jr., 67, was born on Oct. 5, 1947, in Lake Charles, La. He was a graduate of W.O. Boston High School Class of 1966 and then enlisted in United States Navy. After leaving the Navy he attended Sowela Technical Community College with a concentration in aircraft repairs for Lockheed Aircrafts. Elijah moved to New Orleans, La., and returned home after Hurricane Katrina. He was a retired labor foreman of Labor Local Union #689 of New Orleans, La., after 35 years. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed his daily jazz music, crossword puzzles and family times. He transitioned from this life on Monday, June 29, 2015.

Service date: July 7, 2015

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 9-11 a.m. at Combre Funeral Home followed by burial at Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Cuba Jr. of Saints Memorial Church of God In Christ will officiate.
