Elvina Landry Leblanc 98, of Lake Charles, passed into the arms of the Lord on November 29, 2015. Elvina was born on April 7, 1917 in St. Martinville, Louisiana to Louis Luc Landry and Marie Rose Landry. She was united in marriage to Warren Joseph Leblanc Sr. who preceded her in death. Elvina was a longstanding member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies of Auxiliary.
Mrs. Leblanc was employed for many years as a cook at Washington High School. Prior to her years at Washington High School she was a beautician. Mrs. Leblanc was a praying woman she prayed the rosary daily and her prayers will forever envelope her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved husband, Warren Joseph Leblanc Sr. she was preceded in death by her parents Luc and Rose Landry, 10 siblings, son Anthony Leblanc, daughter Dorothy Leblanc-Ross and son Warren Leblanc Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister Alice Shaw of Fayetteville, North Carolina, two daughters Madaline Leblanc-Hail and Brenda Leblanc-Schexnider both of Lake Charles, Louisiana. In addition to 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: Dec. 3, 2015
Visitation will be at Combre Funeral Home in Lake Charles Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, from 8-10 a.m. with a rosary beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 2031 Opelousas Street. Burial will follow the service at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
